An extraordinary reserve of forgotten actives
Le Potager du Roi
A major component of the royal estate of Versailles
Le Potager du Roi
At the heart of Versailles, the Potager du Roi embodies agronomic and botanical prowess.
Created between 1678 and 1683 at the request of Louis XIV, this exceptional garden was fashioned by Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie, a former lawyer turned master gardener and agronomist. This 9-hectare masterpiece of garden design was intended to supply the royal table and to serve as a symbol of French know-how throughout the world.
Classified as a historic monument and a remarkable garden, it is an integral part of the Château de Versailles estate, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Feed and innovate
The mission entrusted to Jean-Baptiste La Quintinie is still relevant today: to nourish and innovate.
More than a garden, the Potager du Roi is a living laboratory, adapting to contemporary challenges by experimenting with modern techniques such as agroecology.
At Mademoiselle Saint Germain, we draw on this precious tradition and the very essence of this plant heritage to design authentic skincare products inspired by history and exceptional plants.
THE LOIRE CHÂTEAUX
Le Jardin de Villandry
The Château de Villandry, the last of the great Loire châteaux built during the Renaissance, stands proudly in the Loire Valley, surrounded by gardens renowned the world over. Each garden is a living ode to the French art of gardening, an open-air library that spans the ages, from the Middle Ages to the present day. Redesigned by Joachim Carvallo in the early 20th century, the gardens of Villandry embody a subtle dialogue between tradition and innovation, combining Renaissance heritage, French rigour and landscaped parkland.
An exceptional garden
It is in this exceptional place that we harvest some of the plants that go into the composition of our cosmetics, formulated with respect for tradition and a love of nature. By incorporating precious Villandry extracts into our skincare products, Mademoiselle Saint Germain invites you to rediscover authentic beauty, inspired by gardens where the past and present blend harmoniously.
